For my birthday, I usually have random bouts where I don’t want to celebrate it OR, I can make a sudden 360 and start up with a ton of things that I suddenly want. Like cake for instance. I really had these last minute dreams about getting a mini cake but everywhere I messaged had totally outrageous prices (FOR A MINI CAKE!!!). Eventually, due to my immense lack of patience and the feeling that I can do anything, I bought confetti boxed cakes and rainbow sprinkles to make my own mini cakes.
P.S. you should be following me @itsroxyjames on the usual instagram, twitter & snapchat (my cute AF snapcode is on the sidebar). There’s a secret about this cake that only my squad knew!!!
Now here’s the thing, my boyfriend was listening to my rants for a whole week – like who else will I annoy the hell out of- and sympathizing with me ANDDDD, knew I went and bought all my cake stuff in the grocery. But I guess that’s what good boyfriends are for right?
Well my guy completely outdid himself and surprised me with this gorgeous mint and pink cake, with a chocolate ganache filling. OMFG yes, you heard me. He opened the door and there was this mega cake on the table which caught me by surprise. I almost even shed a tear. He didn’t go for the mini cake though, which was probably a good idea since I’m super greedy. See, he knows me?
This cake is a decadent 5 layer , 9″ cake, covered in mint green fondant (which was incredibly smooth) & a pipped quilt pattern. There’s also a a ton of beautiful hand crafted pink sugar roses & flowers. Andddd lemme just say that I LOVED how it tasted. It wasn’t overly sugary-headachy sweet. It was just perfect and trust me when I say I’m extremely picky when it comes to everything in the cake world- and my boyfriend is even worse, but this was just perfection.
If you’re from Trinidad, you can get it from Little Cake Factory & you can find them on Facebook here or instagram here. They did an amazing job (this post is definitely not sponsored, just love) and I highly recommend them if you’re living in Trinidad.
The flowers are very detailed & the quilted pattern is so lovely.
FUN FACT: this cake is the exact colour of my fave Webster Color Crush personal planner. Now thinking about it, I should have totally taken pictures next to it. Or not- cause that’s just so weird.
Also loved the rhinestones on the cake base itself. It was like the extra oomph that completed everything.
So there you go. All the million pics of my birthday cake that I just had to share with you. If you end up doing anything similar to this SHARE SHARE SHARE I need to know.
P.S. thank you for all the birthday wishes because it meant the world to me & thank you for being such amazing readers. Love y’all soooo much!
