My last Holiday video was all about making yummy DIY Body Scrubs but this post is gonna be all about making very simple and inexpensive gifts. Oh yeah, another DIY! Also, I have all the tags that I used in this video below so make sure to check them out if you’re going to be making any of the gorgeous gifts! Enjoy and don’t forget to like and subscribe for a lot more DIYs!
I think my favourite DIY was the Peppermint & Cocoa Mix. Not only does it look all pretty with the layers, but it tastes amazing and is perfect for someone like me who loves tea but could never make it. Now, with 1/3 of my cocoa mix and 3/4 cups of water, this will be the easiest and most yummiest thing ever. The Holiday Goodie bag is another great idea, especially if you have a lot of friends. I recommend that you buy sets of items such as nail polishes, perfumes, arm candy whatever you’d like, and then put one of each in a little pouch or drawstring bag and give to your friends. And of course, because it is the holidays, it would be a lovely touch to add a little candy cane to the bag! I find myself loving this little elephant. And would you believe, it was just a plain old plastic toy elephant? Of course, mine is a little too realistic to be totally chic, but I still love it anyway. You can get one that doesn’t look so robust, spray paint it gold (or any colour you fancy) and then use his trunk as a ring holder. How perf is that! This looks so much like snow I think I should have renamed it something like Sugar Cookie Snow Mix. These are the dry ingredients and on the little tag you’ll see below, there will be the rest of the instructions. Basically it’s just 1 cup of butter and 1 egg that you would need to mix with this in order to get your yummy sugar cookies. I love tea, but like I may have mentioned, I can’t make it to save my life and I often have to depend on The Boyfriend to make for me. Maybe now, since I have chic mugs I would be able to help myself out a little more. I did these with Sharpie Gold and baked them in the oven for 30 mins at around 400-450 degrees. In this case, the cheaper the mug the better because more expensive ones have a better glaze and that means the marker won’t adhere to the mug as well as one with a lesser glaze. Clean the surface of the mug with rubbing alcohol and be sure not to let your fingers touch the surface because every itty bit of grim will show. I think simple sayings are the safest way to go because as you will see in the video, I wrote a huge long paragraph and then rubbed it off because I hated my writing. And that reminds me, you can erase your mistakes with the same rubbing alcohol but only as soon as you’ve made them because if you wait too long, you’ll be scrubbing them off for a while. In the end, I just stuck to these and I think they came out perfectly. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to get the other two gift ideas photographed thanks to my busy schedule and exams, so here’s the tags for them as well as the rest of the tags I promised. I hope you look and the video so you can see what my ‘For your Mistle-Toes’ was and ‘For you Holinails’ as well. I might update this post very soon with pictures though so forgive me in the mean time. You can copy these into word and resize them to suit!
Hope you enjoy this video!!
Cheers, The Classy It Girl!
