Recently I’ve been on a New Year high, where everyday, I try to live the best life that I could. I find myself being more inspired and more determined than ever to achieve my goals. Maybe that’s why I’ve been giving away so many free printables on my blog- from my 2017 watercolor calendar, to a goals & resolutions list. I dunno what it is but every time I make something for myself, I just have to share it with you!
P.S. for more secrets & sharing, be sure to follow me on instagram, twitter & snapchat (itsroxyjames).
On my main channel, we recently did an entire video on “How to Achieve Your Goals”, whether it be in school, life or whatever. One of the biggest and most helpful ways that I’ve found to do this is by keeping track of your goals aka #GOALTRACKING
We all have big goals and sometimes that can feel super overwhelming. I know I’m not the only one why I say that sometimes, it can even be un-motivating, just staring at a big fat goal and not knowing how the hell to even start working on it.
The answer to this is simply to create mini goals to help you accomplish your bigger goals. By setting these mini goals or milestones, you’re basically breaking up your goal into smaller more manageable pieces.
For instance, one of my goals is to be more healthy. Not only in fitness but in my actual life. I always avoid doctors and checkups and metal in my mouth, but I’m starting to realize that if I really need to start taking care of myself and take my health more seriously.
Big Goal: be more healthy
Mini Goals:
- take vitamins daily (I just bought a women’s multivitamin that I keep on my desk so I won’t forget)
- drink more water
- eat 5-6 meals a day
- exercise daily (super important since my life is behind a desk editing)
- go for a checkup & pap smear (NEVER did one)
- visit the dentist & deal with my wisdom teeth situation (I avoided taking out my wisdom teeth and not it basically fucked up my other teeth)
Another example is my herb garden. I think I’ve been lamenting about this forever on my blog. When I was younger, I loved to be in the garden. But now, since I’m always inside filming, editing or working, I just don’t have the time anymore. As a result, I strongly think my green thumb died. This year though, I bought new herbs and I’m determined to have a thriving garden by June.
Big Goal: thriving, healthy herb garden
Mini goals:
- buy seedlings
- research how to care for plants (very helpful so you know that rosemary actually hates water and you shouldn’t drown it like I did)
- organic fertilizers?
- get proper soil
Every time I get overwhelmed, I can now just look at my mini goals to see what needs to be done in order to accomplish my big goal.
Of course to do this, I had to create a cute goal tracking printable and then share it with you. There’s a place where you can put your goal, and then steps you can take to make them happen. I strongly recommend that you keep checking up on these mini goals to make sure that you’re staying on track.
How are you going to use your #GOALTRACKER ? Do you have any goals for 2017?
Don’t forget that you can scale your printable before you print, so that it can fit smaller planners.
