Many times, you may find yourself stuck in a rut in life. You have bouts of depression and mood swings and nothing just seems to make sense anymore. Trust me when I say, I’ve been there and done that way too many times than what would be considered normal.
But there are things that you can do on a daily basis to uplift your spirit and stay happy and motivated just to live life. Here are some of my tips to help you be self-inspired.
1. Vision Board
I love being inspired every day by positive messages and anything that puts a smile on my face. I have journal cards (magazine cut-outs are so perfect as well), a charmed bracelet (representing love and peace), and a little flower The Boyfriend gave me a few months ago. Those are the little things that make me happy and feel so much better if I’m having a crappy day. I have it right by my desk because I legit spend more time on my desk that anywhere else in my room.
P.S. the cute pushpins are these ones from Kate Spade.
2. Affirmations or Beliefs
They always said, if you don’t stand up for something, you’ll fall for anything. I love having a list of my affirmations on my vanity so that every morning as I’m getting ready, I can see it and read it. It’s so powerful because when you set your intentions, you essentially decide what day you want to have or person you want to be.
For instance, you can get up feeling like a total wretch one day and that negativity would just pulsate throughout your entire day, making you frustrated and depressed. But you could make the conscious decision to abandon that negativity and choose to be happy despite whatever baggage you may be toting around.
I made my affirmations available as a free printable. Check it out below if you want to twin with me.
3. Find Spirituality
Okay this one is a very touchy subject for me but long story short, I went through a very dark time in my life. But because I wasn’t brought up knowing God, I was completely lost and found myself following a very questionable path. When you lack faith and belief, those things tend to happen because you have no one to turn too. Finding God has transformed my life and now, when things get tough, there’s nothing that a simple prayer won’t give comfort too.
I love reading this book called Project Inspired by Nicole Weider. It’s a modern day girl’s guide to staying true to yourself, while still living a fabulous life. I also love the way she incorporates God but doesn’t make it seem like a forceful relationship because it should never be like that.
She has so many tips from fashion, to being good friend and listening to God’s call. It’s definitely worth the read.
4. Travel. Travel. Travel.
If you follow me on Instagram, you know that traveling is one of my passions. And it doesn’t even have to be going to a different country! Seeing the world gives you an entirely new perspective on life. It inspires you and lifts your soul as you explore and appreciate all the blessings you have in life. I adore the saying, if you travel far enough, you meet yourself.
Wise words to live by.
Hope you enjoyed the post and the free printable!
