Investing in yourself is not selfish: you want to make sure you feel good and that you are in a good place mentally, emotionally and physically so that you can be more inspired and motivated in life. These are 10 of the top ways that you can invest in yourself so that you can create your dream life.

1. Clothes
Invest in clothing that you absolutely love and make you feel amazing, beautiful and sexy. This is definitely one of the more fun tips because you get to go shopping! You can look into your closet and give away all the clothes that don’t make you feel good and invest in some key pieces that actually make you feel amazing.
For me, one of those pieces is high wasted jeans. I wear them in so many of my Instagram pictures! It makes me feel so comfortable and immediately boosts my mood and my confidence.
It makes no sense hating how you look because your clothes doesn’t flatter you, when instead, you can be radiating confidence wearing something you love.
2. Enroll in workshops/courses
You can do this in any aspect of your life. If you’re a student and you want to get some more help with math or chemistry, there are so many free online resources available. Or if you’re your own boss, entrepreneur or working at a company, there is always some skill that you can harness that will allow you to be better at what you are doing: an online business course, something with marketing or understanding social media.
Don’t settle for thinking that you know it all. There is always room for growth and getting more exposure in whatever field you’re in. This is definitely one of the best ways to invest in yourself because having a skill and being good at what you do is priceless!
3. Experiences and Moments
This is one thing that I am planning on investing more in. As I got older, I realized that I didn’t want to have so much material things all around me. I rather use that same money to travel and explore because I’ve learned to appreciate the worth of memories and experiences vs materialistic things.
You can check out my fall bucket list and my New York vlogs here. Instead of doing a lot of shopping, I planned wrote a bucket list and got to check them off. It’s those memories and experiences that I would remember and appreciate more than the things I buy.
4. Invest your money and save
Open a savings account where you absolutely do not touch your money until you meet a savings goal or if absolutely necessary.
This can also be in the form of investing your money so that it actually builds up on its own without you having to physically do anything e.g. buying stocks.
5. Health Insurance
I know that everyone has their own opinions but I can definitely say that having health insurance has been so beneficial to me. When I go to the doctor or I have a prescription to be filled, I use it get a chunk of money back.
I was definitely skeptical about having health insurance but it came in really handy for taking out my wisdom teeth and getting a pap smear. Sometimes I even paid less than 10 dollars for an entire prescription because the health insurance covered the rest. Do your research and get a plan suitable for you.
6. Read Self- Help Books
This is something that I have been incorporating so much more into my life and it has been helping me in developing my brand as well as myself.
Reading self-help books is definitely not a shameful thing because you get to learn so much from someone else’s perspective and that in turn helps you with your life.
I have a booklist of 10 books every girl needs to read as well as 10 Inspiring Self-Help Book Every Girl Boss Should Read so make sure to check that out as well.
7. Your Time
Sometimes you just have no idea where your time is going and in my 30-day GYLT series I talked about doing a time audit. This really helps you to see hour by hour exactly where your time is going and help you be more aware of how much time you wasted scrolling.
By doing this, it can show you where you have the time to be more productive or do things that will actually improve your life. Be sure to download this printable to help you track your time and how you spend 24 hours.
8. Create a Space that you Love
Over the years I have really changed up my space and every single time, I have been so inspired by these changes. From that DIY plant shelf above my bed, to macrame plant hangers and little details here and there.
It’s all about investing in a space that makes you feel good and feel motivated to get work done- a space where you can really be at ease with yourself. Investing in things like a really great bed to get an amazing night’s sleep or redecorating your desk area can make such a huge difference in your space and mood!

9. Invest in people
You don’t want to have negative people/people who drain your energy around you, because you will always be held down by their problems and issues.
Invest in people who you can learn from, who make you a better person and vibrate on your frequency so that you are constantly growing- and vice versa.
10. Use a planner
I mean you saw this coming right?! Investing in a really great planner that suits you is so important because it really helps to organize your life so that you can get so many things done.
I would not be able to function without my planner and get as much as I get done. You want to be able to invest in yourself by having goals and accomplishing your dreams and you can’t do that without a goal and a plan.
