NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream Swatches | Tan/Olive Skin

Hello beauties!

Since I cleaned my vanity area (video soon to come- yes, an actual “clean with me”), I became reacquainted with soooo many makeup products that never saw the light of day. Literally. They were in a draw all hidden away in a bundled heap, so understandably, I never went for them. But because of my random cleaning, I rekindled my love for a lip product that is a staple in my collection. The NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams.

I asked on snapchat (username: parisandroxy) and on instagram, if you wanted to see a swatch video on them and I got so many positive responses (yay). I did this video veryyyy differently because if I must be honest, makeup videos just aren’t my forte. So I decided to vogue for you…as I swatched the products on my lips. LOL

One of the main reasons I decided to even think about doing this video/post is because there are barely swatches on tan/olive skin- not only of this but soooooo many products. So I hope this helps you if you have a similar skin tone.

I have a HUGE fan of matte lipsticks and almost every lip product I own is matte. I don’t know but that glossy look just reminds me of oil so yea, it’s just not up my alley. BUT THESE ARE.

I have 13 colours out of 22 I believe (correct me if I’m wrong) and I aim to collect ALL cause I’m a hoarder like that.

Formula: buttery and rich (with the exception of a few lighter colours) and turns matte upon application. It doesn’t leave your lips overly matte though, which is perfect since that can be annoying and very drying.

Smell: like buttercream icing. I kid you not.

Lasting power: 4-5 hours if you don’t eat. But tbh, I think mine lasts even longer.

Packaging: sleek and sexy with a matte black cover

Fun Fact: all the lip creams are named after capital cities

Color range: variety of colours from the lightest browns to the deepest reds. However, not all are suitable for tan/olive skin – well in my opinion- because it washes out my skin tone.

Application: very smooth for the darker colours but the lighter ones like Cairo and Sydney applied a bit streaky.

Cost: $5.99 and worth every cent

Recommend: YOU NEED TO HAVE THESE. Trust me, you’ll be obsessed.
