How is it already MARCH? Where did the last 3 months go??? Does anyone else feel like 2018 is flying?? I know, sooo many questions to start the blog post but it was the first thing that popped into my mind. Any way, let’s get on to the good juicy desk stuff.
I’ve always had a bright and colourful theme for my desk so expect bursts of pinks, blues and yellows. Vivid colours just brighten up a space and for me, it helped me to be motivated to want to be at my desk. I don’t mind switching things up a bit- and I actually might change the colour scheme soon, but the good thing is that it’s just a desk right? You can do anything you want and if you don’t like it, you can just switch it back to normal.
P.S. have you been keeping up with me @itsroxyjames on instagram? It’s my only social media and I share beauty tips, recipes, hauls and even giveaways.
Here’s a video tour of what’s on my desk, but keep reading to find out more details!
I love functionality and organization but it doesn’t have to be ugly. For instance, I added this white 6-cube cubby to my desk for more decorative space, but it also holds containers that I use to store odds & ends, washi tape, push pins and more. And if you look at the video, I show how I use pretty product boxes to store things like journal and scrapbooking cards.
I like keeping non-fiction self-help/motivational books on my desk to remind me to just read for at least 10 minutes a day. I sort of have a bad habit of only loving fantasy & fiction books but I really want to uplift my mind with inspirational books.
For some quirkiness, I like adding random pieces like that jumbo pink clothespin in the picture above and this passport holder with the quote. Little pieces like these add character to your space.
Since I’m always looking for ways to stay inspired, I like this little desk card stand. It has 12 bright, colourful quotes- most even have gold foil prints!!- that you can switch out.
And of course, you know my desk would never be complete without my planners. If you’ve been here for a while, you KNOW that the planner obsession is real. But it’s because it truly helps you to stay productive, organized and get your priorities in order.
Read 5 ways I stay organized.
Here’s an overview and like I mentioned before, I’m thinking about switching up the color-scheme very soon so be sure you’re keeping up with me on instagram so you can be the first to see what I’m planning.
