I love traveling. At any opportunity given to me, you can find me on the first flight out to somewhere. Trinidad, being the land of numerous holidays graced me with a 4 day holiday thanks to Easter. So, what else was there to do besides hop on a plane to a gorgeous Caribbean island- St. Lucia.
First sunset on Rodney Bay
Sure, I live on an island myself but Trinidad shys in comparison to St. Lucia. I honestly had no idea how stunning that island was. I one hundred percent recommend visiting there if you wanted to visit the Caribbean.
Little fishing boats in the marina
We stayed at Blu Hotel which was located in Rodney Bay [north of the island] and thankfully the airport we landed in- George F.L. Charles- was located only 15 minutes away. The other airport is located south of St. Lucia and is a whopping 90 minutes away from where we stayed. I think that that airport is bigger so it houses all the international flights.
This gorgeous little bay is only 2 minutes walking distance from the hotel so we walked there every day.
Rodney Bay during the day
The plane from Trinidad to St. Lucia was a tiny propeller plane which you already know probably creeped me out- yes, I am one of those freaking nervous take-off people. Gulp. And it did waver a bit when landing-just saying. Any wayy, the one hour flight was short and sweet and in our descent, we saw the amazing Pitons which are a famous landmark in St. Lucia being volcanic remnants and what not.
P.S. Their local beer is called Pitons!
Later on, we did see them in their full glory while we took a little water taxi aka a little speed boat tour of the western coast.
You can experience everything- from the landing in the airport to the boat trip- in my 3 part vlog at the end of this post.
Pink grapefruit was my breakfast everyday. It’s so delicious!
A huge tip I would say is to stay in an all-inclusive hotel like where I was. Everything was one price which was so much fun because all through the day, you can get ice-cream [OMG the chocolate is THE best thing in life] and drinks. You legit need to try the mango juice!! I was drinking that all day erryday. We also had full breakfast, lunch and dinner meals.
The food at the hotel was incredible. I had fish with most of my meals, various salads and fruit mixes ad well as sweet potato mash. Dessert was either cheesecake or red velvet with chocolate [duh] ice-cream.
If you have any questions about my trip feel free to leave it in the comments below and I’ll try to answer it for you! Now here are the vlogs- hope you enjoy.
XO,
P.S. This replaced my Friday Faves for today because I felt like St. Lucia deserved it’s own spotlight!
