Hello my loves!
Today’s DIY for #MakeitinMay is hands down girly and gorgeous. I love how elegant these pieces look around my room and I can’t wait to share them with you. As always, these are so easy to make not to mention, they don’t cost much at all. TBH, you actually probably have some of the things to make these right now! I actually didn’t buy any of the things I used in the video because they were laying around at home.
Mini Perfume Bottle Flower Holder
I love little things- my DIY Mini Photoholders should have been a huge hint there- so when I had this empty perfume bottle laying around, I just popped a single rose into it and I now, I’m in love. I’m going to become the biggest hoarder of mini perfume bottles-or any perfume bottles-from this day forward. One flower is just perfect for small bottles but bigger ones can hold loads more. Just remember you want a beautiful and classy look so don’t overdo it with the flowers.
So a while ago, I made this Kiss Me Picture Frame in my DIY Valentine’s Day Decor and it was always sitting prettily on my vanity. But I wanted to make it a little more functional so I turned it into this message board which I adore. I like writing little quotes on it to help me be inspired during the day. By using a piece of felt as your dry eraser, it’s so easy to keep changing things up!
So, you want to feel like Picasso but you can’t draw? I know I know, the feeling is all too real. I can’t draw anything to save my life. But here’s a simple way to feel like a modern day artist with just a few items.
– canvas [Trinidad: Perspectives or Craft Creators ~prices vary] I like using the 8×8 ones and I love odd numbers so a set of three was perfect for me.
– a plastic knife
-watercolours/acrylic paint
My boyfriend loved the ones I did so much that he wants one of his own- don’t worry I made sure he wasn’t just saying that.
I am in love with the way that the plastic knife creates such a beautiful texture and ‘brushstroke’. I feel like making a ton more of these in little sets to give as gifts.
This flower vase is absolutely stunning. The fuller the better is always a wonderful approach when it comes to your vase. You see that gold base? Well instead of using spray paint or glitter which can get a little messy, all you need is pretty paper and you just fold, cut and pop it into your vase [or candle jar like I’m using]. I used metallic gold which was actually left over from my Post-It Memo Board but imagine how glittery paper would look! You can even think about using patterned scrapbook paper!
I hope you enjoyed this post and be sure to pretty please subscribe to my channel so you won’t miss out on all the fun things! And is you do make anything from this series be sure to tweet me or instagram me with the #MakeitinMay so I can find you and see your work of art!
Happy DIYing,
