Drumroll pleaseeeee! It’s the 3rd episode of #MAKEITINMAY and technically, this would be a series within a series since it’s “Trash to Treasure”. In this DIY, I’ll be taking 3 items that you would consider to be ‘trash’ and I’m gonna revamp it and give it an entirely new life and purpose. You can get amazing room accents by just visiting the thrift store, spending a few bucks and by the time you’re finished, you have fancy shmancy decor.
Oh and remember, if you do make any of these DIYs be sure to tweet me or instagram me with the #MAKEITINMAY so I can see what you did!
First up, I had a clear glass owl which I spray painted a hot neon pink colour and now, it’s a stunning accent on my desk which can function as a paperweight or even bookend one day. It even matches with one of my DIY basket shelves!
P.S. All the before shots are shown in the video.
Then there was an old genie lamp which also got a coat of spray paint and instead of just using it as a decorative piece, I made it functional by holding some of my washi tape. Understandably my lamp was little so it could only hold a few rolls, but it’s the idea of functionality that I want to convey when revamping old items.
And last but definitely not least, is actually a HUGE fave of mine from #MAKEITINMAY right now, and it’s this chalkboard tray which I LOVEEEE. It’s so much fun everyday changing up the message and just starting your day on a positive note.
P.S. You can make this for bae and you will be loved. Thank me later!
Anddd can we take a moment to appreciate how freaking gooddd avocado and toast is? I could have this every single morning.
You can find chalkboard spray paint at any paint store!
Pink grapefruit has been a staple for my breakfast for the past few weeks. I decided I’m gonna buy more local fruits and I happened across a delish batch of these beauties. My love for this fruits stems from my recent St. Lucia trip where I had them every morning as well!
What was your fave DIY from this bunch?! Lemme know below.
