Boom bang bang it’s day 5 of #MakeitinMay and I am absolutely thrilled to share this DIY with you. These flower sunglasses first made their way onto my fashion radar when Kendall Jenner rocked them for Coachella this year. Umm hello!!

I knew I had to make a pair of my own but the thing is, I live in Trinidad and we don’t have an amazing craft store like the famous Michaels so it’s pretty hard to find the things I need 99% of the time when I’m doing DIYs.
Like this one.
The ideal item for this project would be rose cabochons [ikr such a fancy name] which are basically the little 3D roses that you see on studs.

I couldn’t seem to find those anywhere and I really wasn’t about to order them online since it probably won’t have gotten here on time. So what do I do?
Go on a mission ofc! To find something that looks just as similar or that can fulfil the same purpose.
So I settled on plastic flower trim that you can find in a fabric store most likely [Trinidad: Uniforms, Trincity Mall ~$12.00/ yard] Since it sells by the yard [it’s like a really long chain] so as you will see, I cut out the individual flowers and used them to make my Kendall Jenner inspired sunnies.
I love how they turned out and tbh I would totally rock these bad boys at the beach- or whenever I feel like rockin’ them.
For this project you will need:
– sunglasses [Trinidad: WW $25]
– rose cabochons [lucky you] or for unfortunate souls like us, plastic flower trim.
– glue gun
– scissors [if you’re using trim]
I know this seems like such a bold look and that’s because it IS. But right now it’s definitely a huge trend and you should totally try it out and have fun with it.
I hope you enjoy today’s #MakeitinMay video/post and I can’t wait to share the next one with you! Be sure to tweet me or instagram me with the #MakeitinMay so I can see your lovely DIYs from this series!
Happy DIYing!
Roxy!
