DIY Holiday Gift Ideas

I loveee this time of the year but I won’t lie, it can get kind of stressful when you have to think about what to get for your friends or family. Handmade items are always more appreciated and not-to-mention, if you’re on a tight budget, these are just the thing for you. Here are 3 easy DIY holiday gift ideas that your friends will actually love and want.

I love little dainty things and this teacup set is no exception. It’s extremely easy to make and you could do it with a coffee mug instead, if the person you’re giving it too likes coffee. I used metallic gold spray paint so I’m not sure how another colour would work.

Just note that this isn’t dishwasher safe so give it some extra lovin’ by hand washing it. I loved the geometric pattern but polka dots or stripes would also be very chic.

These peppermint sugar scrub bars are very simple and easy to make and not to mention they smell incredibly delish and you might be tempted to eat it. I won’t lie, I did lick a bit- don’t judge me- and it did taste yummy but yea, don’t go about eating them.

Using silicone molds like this one, really makes the scrub bars pop right out so I definitely recommend using them.

All you need is:

1 cup white sugar
1 cup coconut oil
peppermint oil
food colouring (no, it won’t stain your skin)

Just a few things to note:

– for a coarser scrub, use more sugar that coconut oil

– in warm temperatures, coconut oil can melt and you probably won’t want your scrub to get all goopy, so I stored mine in a glass jar and kept it in the fridge.

Last up, my personal fave is this cookie decorating kit. I baked fresh sugar cookies and left them “naked”. Then I packed them into a little container with holiday themed sprinkles and a pack of frosting. I wrapped it with baker’s twine and added a little gift tag that I made as a free printable here.
