Hello loves!
This has to be one of my fave DIYs in life because it’s organization themed! How fun is that. And P.S. in case you were wondering, I get a lot of inspiration for DIYs based on my room and what I need. I dunno why I just said that but I thought I should. All of these are very easy to make and add up to less than $10. You gotta love keeping things simple right?
P.S.2. If you do make any of these DIYs be sure to tweet me or instagram me with the #MAKEITINMAY so I could see all the fun things you were up too.
First we’re gonna make these chic bookends. I can’t lie, these turned out to be one of my absolute fave DIYs so far – and I really loved the way the gold spray paint turned out! You just need two wooden blocks and twin animals [or animals of the same shape]. I used a zebra and a horse which basically looked identical by the time they were all golden and pretty, but I love the idea of elephants because their upturned tusks would be beyond perf.
Next up are beyond easy and something that you could probably make right this moment. It’s these cord organizers using-drumroll please- toilet paper rolls! You can decorate them with washi tape which is what I did or you can use stickers/strips of paper stuck to the rolls. Then I used a black marker to write down the name of the device that was gonna be kept in there. You really can’t get any easier- or cheaper than this! Way to upcycle right?!
I like keeping them in a pretty box [this is a Memebox] just so they have a nice home of their own.
Another mega fave of mine was this iPhone dock/charging station. I always wanted to make one of these but the majority I saw required either cutting, slitting or drilling holes. So I perused the hardware and found two perfect pieces of wood that I stuck together and resulted in the iPhone dock of my dreams.
P.S.3. I loveeee the mint green! It matches my desk perfectly!
P.S.4. Even though I call it an iPhone dock, you can use any phone!
I used a block of wood and a wooden elbow* that I simply stuck together. Because of the elbow* there was a nice little ledge in the middle where your phone could sit perfectly. I love being able to work on my desk and just see my notifications just pop up on the screen, instead of having my phone lying down all over the place.
Oh and to charge it, just lay it horizontally so your cord won’t bend. It still looks fab and you can see your notifications.
What was your fave DIY from these?! Lemme know!
XO,
* I don’t know if it’s called an elbow because I just found it in the wooden section of the hardware. If you know what it’s called, please let us know!
