Hello my lovely DIY-ers!
#MakeitinMay is surely coming to a close as this is our third to last DIY for the month. Crazy right?
Today is one of my favourite DIYs ever because it’s something which I always love to do and it just makes me so happy. It’s a Ribbon Dream Board- or you can call it your Inspiration Board if you’d like. I absolutely adore how mine turned out and of course, it’s so simple and easy to make!
So you may ask, why ribbon? Well, some people have a really hard time getting cork board-which is usually what one looks for when doing such a project- so if you don’t have that, you can simply opt for using a flat board and just hanging it to the wall or, a mega picture frame [without the glass ofc]. The latter was the option that I chose. I wrapped white fabric around the board and then went crazy hot gluing the ribbon in the desired pattern.
Another thing, with the cork board, you don’t really have free reign when it comes to personalizing your board and making it look like a statement piece in your room.
– The ribbon I liked is satin and I believe it’s like 1/8″ or maybe 1/4″ aka it’s really thin and I prefer it that way because I find that your pattern comes out so much cleaner and more organized.
– I played around a bit before I settled on this pattern so you don’t have to do one exactly like this, but you can play around and do your own thing. Chevron would look amazing btw!
– The quotes I printed were from Tumblr but you can definitely make use of the Google search bar and just search for pretty quotes or inspiring quotes- or anything that you want your dream board to reflect. Remember it’s about your dreams or what inspires you. If you can’t print, there’s always tons of magazines- you can even ask around for old magazines in order to make your ribbon board.
Some ideas for dream/inspiration boards:

– future house
– wedding [definitely will be my favourite board in a few! ]
