Knock Knock. Is anyone there for my very neglected (I must confess) Friday Faves. Ahhh I blame it on my #WANDERLUST adventures in Toronto and NYC. Yes, I know- totally not a good enough reason but hear me out: I see Paris (my sister for those of you who are new) for only 2 months of the year and it’s so hard cause we’re like twins, but not really. Long story short: I had to spend some quality time with her.
On the plus side- I have so many exciting blog posts coming your way and I can’t wait to share it with you! Let’s start with my 5 fave places to eat in Toronto. You know I love food and trying new places so now, I’m gonna share some places you NEED to try if you ever visit TO.
1. Spring Sushi
I am obsessed with sushi. It’s seriously my one true food love AND the fact that it’s actually “good” for you – minimum carbs and all- there’s no where I would rather indulge than in a good buffet. Actually scratch that. A good, mind-blowing-decent-priced-buffet-restaurant aka Spring Sushi.
It’s conveniently located at Dundas Square and oh my goshhhhhh. It is the sushi heave you always dreamt of. You get to order from fancy iPads and everything is so well pictured and detailed that all you have to do is click a button, your server comes to submit your choices and a few minutes later, you get freshly prepared sushi or piping hot miso soup (YUM). Is it bad that I actually know the entire menu by heart?!
There’s also an à la carte option but hello?! What part of buffet did you not see??? It’s about $25 for dinner and $15 (because some things aren’t on the menu like SASHIMI) before 3:30 p.m. so once we realized that, Paris and I were there every week before 3:30 pm to completely pig out indulge in sushi mastery.
My advice #1: TRY EVERYTHING!!! It’s all so incredible gooddddddd.
My advice #2: Make a reservation because it’s legit always packed. If you’re willing to wait about 15 mins before, proceed as such.

2. D’Lusso Cafe & Bistro
We were probably here every evening- I kid you not. It’s a lovely little place on The Danforth that has a chic lounge setting and absolutely delish food. P.S. it’s fairly new since opening in early 2015 and I have to say that literally every time we walked by, there was something new and exciting to try.
Paris and I basically totaled the menu (vegetarian problems) so we hugely recommend trying the veggie panini with fresh tomatoes and avocados, the tuna melt panini and the 10″ pizzas. It’s ridiculously yummy and they even have ice-cream now and I’m kinda obsessed with the lemon flavored one.
It also has a patio on the pavement which I adore because it feels so Parisienne chic.
They also have a lovely pancake spread for breakfast which I hugely recommend.
BTW you can get a glimpse of this cafe here in our Summer Morning Routine.

3. The Host
Authentic Indian food?! Count me in. There’s nothing as good as spicy hot-what I would like to call comfort food– during the random thunderstorms that Toronto throws your way. Think: spicy paneer and chili flavoured naan. Gulp. It really is not a good idea to be writing this at 11:42 p.m.
There’s always this buffet restaurant where you can more than eat your fill for about $12 bucks cause a non-buffet could get pretty pricey if you want to order the entire menu like me. #SORRYNOTSORRY

4. Queen Street Warehouse (El Furniture)
You should probably sit down for this one. This hidden gem on Queen Street is a hipster-dive-bar that you HAVE to visit because everything on the menu is…less than $4.95 bucks- or less. I KID YOU NOT. And when you see the menu, maybe then you’ll really need to sit down.
I don’t understand it myself but trust me- you don’t have to think twice about being super liberal and trying the amazing selection of food they have (aka everything).
Definitely go there if you have a large group of friends because it’s very affordable and you WILL have an amazing time. You just might want to be mindful of the line to get in which tends get reallyy long so either be prepared to wait orrrrr you know the reservation drill.

5. Magic Oven
If you’re a healthy foodie who wants to indulge a tad bit, this is the place for you. Everything screams ORGANIC from the mountain tops and although their specialty is pizza, they have a other insane food options that are gluten free and vegan [relax, they got meat for anyone who may be concerned].
For instance, this flavonoid pasta below. What you ask? FLAVONOID pasta- like legit, that’s the name. I mean what are you waiting for?! Go get some!
And when I’m not wolfing that down, there’s always the nigari tofu fingers (baked) which is a vegetarian’s dream especially with that honey chili dip. GULP.
And one of my absolute faves when I want to be really good is the cauliflower lasagna which is absolutely carb-less, or at least “bad” carb less. Come on, who’s arguing with that!?

If you’re traveling to Toronto (or you just like food) I hope these suggestions come in handy.
Bon apetite!
