Do you FEEL good?
I know it can be a weird question, but it’s one that we often forget to ask ourselves. So many times we get caught up doing things to OUR OWN selves that make us not feel too good. Here are some bad habits we can quit today, to help our mental & physical health.
P.S. be sure you’re following me on Instagram @itsroxyjames for much more exclusive lifestyle content over there.
Of course, I am definitely guilty of a few of these, but every time I get caught up in one of them, I consciously make the effort to change my mindset ASAP, because ultimately, I know it’s not going to leave me in a better headspace, or make me feel good after.
1. Comparison is truly the thief of joy: don’t waste time comparing yourself to pictures of strangers on social media. Spend that time making YOU better. This has helped me SO much, especially by simply muting or unfollowing accounts that don’t have my vibe. Now, even if I fall into a 10 min scroll-trap, it’s mostly content and people who I genuinely LOVE and feel inspired by.
2. Processed, sugary and junk food make you feel good in the short term sense. But after you eat it, you’ll find that you don’t feel too good- like when you eat 4 or 5 slices of pizza but you know you were full at slice #3? Then you’re all bloated and just uncomfortable? Try to at least get a serving of fruits & vegetables daily- even if it’s in the form of a yummy smoothie or acai bowl.
3. Toxic relationships and people can really damage your self-esteem and hurt your mental health. Most of the time after you’ll feel exhausted and drained. Focus on surrounding yourself with supportive, positive people who align to your goals and the life you want to live.
4. Scrolling for hours on social media leads you to waste time. Don’t get sucked into mindless hours that you could be using instead to create a better life for yourself. I love looking at it this way: the more time you spend consuming social media, the less time you have for creating. When I started looking at it this way, it created such a massive change in perspective and got me thinking about all the things that I could be doing for myself and my business instead.
5. Feeling “stuck” can be frustrating and a great way to get out of this is by learning or doing something new. Get out of your comfort zone and go somewhere new, read a self-help book or even youtube a skill and try it out. There are so many free resources available so be sure to take advantage of it.
